Objective
LODD required a captivating, larger-than-life digital showcase to unveil their massive, heavy-duty cargo drone, the “Hili,” at the prestigious Dubai Airshow. GTECH was commissioned to design and develop an interactive, big-screen digital experience (https://lodd.com/hili/) built using a high-performance HTML and CSS tech stack. The platform was meticulously engineered for large-format touch-screen interactivity on the exhibition floor, allowing global aviation stakeholders and B2B logistics clients to physically engage with the drone’s technical specifications, explore its unique origin story, and visualise its specialised cargo capabilities across regional routes in Abu Dhabi, Qatar, and Bahrain.
Challenge
The Hili is not a standard commercial drone; it is a colossal, highly specialised B2B autonomous aircraft designed for heavy, sensitive, and time-critical cargo. The primary challenge was effectively communicating the sheer physical scale, complex engineering, and modular utility of the Hili within the high-traffic, distraction-heavy environment of the Dubai Airshow. GTECH needed to architect a frictionless, highly engaging user interface (UI) that would naturally draw attendees to a large screen and intuitively guide them through dense technical data and commercial use cases without requiring constant intervention from a sales representative.

Solution
To command attention on the busy exhibition floor, GTECH delivered a visually striking, tactile frontend experience tailored specifically for large touch displays:
- Strategic Big-Screen UI & Dual Journeys: GTECH designed an immersive, cinematic interface structured around two primary interactive pathways. The first journey, “About Hili,” elegantly presents the brand’s narrative, the inspiration behind the drone’s name, and its robust technical specifications using high-contrast, easily scannable typography optimised for large-scale viewing.
- Interactive 360° 3D Exploration: The centrepiece of the digital experience is a fully interactive 360-degree model of the Hili drone. GTECH utilised advanced HTML/CSS styling and interactive web mechanics to allow users to swipe and rotate the colossal aircraft in real-time, exploring it from every conceivable angle. Glowing interactive touchpoints (hotspots) were seamlessly integrated across the 3D model; when tapped, these nodes expand to reveal crucial B2B design features, such as capabilities for Cargo Autonomous Take-Offs and in-flight charging.
- “Plan Your Journey” & Modular Customisation: To directly target major enterprise clients, GTECH developed an interactive customisation module. This feature empowered users to virtually configure Hili’s actual cargo bay based on their specific industry needs, such as adjusting the payload balance or selecting temperature-sensitive compartments for time-critical logistics.

Results
The bespoke interactive display successfully transformed LODD’s booth at the Dubai Airshow into a high-engagement focal point. The flawless HTML and CSS execution provided a zero-latency, tactile experience that allowed B2B investors and enterprise partners to intimately explore the Hili drone’s capabilities. By gamifying the exploration process and empowering users to customise their own craft for specific GCC routes, GTECH generated immense interest, effectively establishing Hili as a premier, heavy-duty autonomous cargo solution.

Conclusion
The LODD “Hili” interactive digital experience highlights GTECH’s distinct expertise in bridging the gap between physical exhibitions and cutting-edge digital storytelling. By pairing immersive, large-scale UI design with high-performance frontend development, GTECH provided LODD with a powerful experiential marketing tool. The platform successfully translated a massive, complex piece of aviation technology into an intuitive, interactive journey, turning passive exhibition attendees into highly engaged prospects.
